Ali B.

I didn’t plan on being a photographer.

My boyfriend (now husband) gave me his old camera on our first Christmas together, and since that day I’ve never looked back.

So many of the things that I loved before — spending time with people, the great outdoors, creating food — I can now combine with a form of creativity that was waiting to find its way out of me.

The stories that are written in photographs are some of the most powerful and beautiful. My hope is to help create and record those that happen in every day life, and the ones that happen once in a lifetime.

When I have the camera in my hands I’m not always in your face, but I’m also not going to expect you to feel completely comfortable in front of the camera. You can trust me to give you gentle direction, but I also want to let organic moments remain what they are. A wedding day is so sacred, and I want to respect and capture the unique essence of each one.

Above all I want to be your friend. I want to get to know you, laugh with you, and maybe even tear up with you because of the sheer beauty of love and life. I’d love to sit down for coffee, hear your story, and maybe even be a small part of it in the future.
